So, I lost my first ever league game.
It was some major bullshty. I had 7 rolls of 3 dice to get a damn 11 and I did it once. What a fuckfest.
I was on a serious timecrunch. I had a haircut appt. in West Hollywood at noon and we started the game in Pasadena at quarter to 11. Yeah, not a good idea. It was against Travis and he agreed to go seven minute turns. It came down to the end and I knew I was going to win it with my shit ton of focus or Travis would get the last turn. I decided to eschew my Arc node and any kind of safety for the High Reclaimer and just stuck his ass right in front of madhammer and started casting boosted immolations. I blew my dice, he cast casecracker and used his ogrun to kill the HR. Oh well. No undefeated for me.
I then proceeded to win 3 more games for the league. I crushed two of them without much trouble. I took out the Butcher with one of those beautiful caster kill moves people only talk about on the forums. Killed the bodyguard Kovnik with a zealot bomb and immolation. Slammed the juggernaut into him with the Exemplar Seneschal and then sent and infused Crusader with 3 focus to finish off the Butcher. My most proud moment was my positioning of Eryss. I ran her up his flank behind a lake. She was in a perfect spot to hit the Butcher. This forced him to do two things – kill her with a spell and waste all her focus or ignore her and get disrupted the next turn and lose all his focus. It was ugly. He opted to kill her, but 6 of one half dozen… I took the game.
I played a Cygnar guy with a terrible list to go against his army. No ranged combat at all and no arc nodes. I placed an ass ton of ash that game. He split his army at one point, so I just ran my whole army at his half army, then when the rest came over to help and I killed them too.
Then I played a game at home with Yamusa. I used my Cygnar -which I love, but have no idea how to use- and he used his Circle.
He taught me humility. God damn.
I killed one of his guys and he massacred my whole army.
Ugh.
In other news, the Bulls didn’t get swept. They, in fact, looked like the hot shit. Gordon couldn’t score a point to save his life. Thomas is still a rookie and made some rookie mistakes, but he was also fucking awesome. Skyles kept him in to finish the 4th. PJ Brown made a serious impact in the 1st, but Skyles kept him on the bench. Since Brown could well be out next season possibly Skyles is trying to get Thomas that much needed exp. Either way, I love seeing that kid play. Damn he can jump.
The way the Bulls took the game is by playing like- THE BULLS!
Finally going for the rees on both ends, getting fast break points off those rees, forcing turnovers, gasp! playing defense, and generally not looking intimidated. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see the Bulls carrying out this series. I’d shit myself if they did, but they are down 3 to 1 and the Pistons are heading back home. They are a dominant and experienced team and I don’t see them dropping it again. That being said, I don’t think they lost this past game because they were off. I really think it was because the Bulls were so on. If the Bulls continue to play flawlessly they could take the series, but unfortunately that means playing flawlessly for 3 more games in a row against a ridiculously awesome defensive team…. It’s possible if they keep taking it to the hole and making it happen like they did this game. Bust through the zone on the dribble, provides options-
take it to the hole for a score/foul/and one
kick it out to a second cutter going for the basket and he scores, kick it out to the outside to an open shooter.
Yeah, so I was pumped.
In other news, I am heading back to Indiana this weekend for Heather’s wedding. w00t!

So, i had Bennigan’s French Onion soup last night and have had gnarly gas since. Holy shit is it bad. Not that I am farting loud, more just oniony pungent gnarlass. Woo!
I literally wore my opponent out tonight. I conned her into a 750 game because it is worth 7 points and not 5. I didn’t get the caster kill, but I wasted her on points. She had Gorten, who I know backwards and forwards because it used to be Odin’s only caster when we started this game. I learned the game beating Gorten’s ass. She used her feat to bullshit effect. She could never really bring the hurt on me. I tore her to bits piecemeal after I took a turn to set my shit up in its best order. She could have won if she had played her turn because I was a dumbass and left the High Reclaimer in a position to possibly get killed. She would have had to have gotten pretty lucky though.
I got the flop.
I was illustrating my playstyle and strategy and the best way I have to do that is-
I hold my arms out in front of me limply and pantomime falling onto someone. Then I wrap my arms around them and squeeze the life out of them. It’s funnier seen than described. At least I think so.
I also got the pin for being Champion of the Winter League. w00t!
At the end of this week I am top of the list by 11 points. I have 2 games to play on Saturday and one on Sunday. I won’t be able to play for a week because of Heather’s wedding. I am way more pumped about the wedding and could give a shit about missing games because of it. Just mentioning it.
Also, the Bulls are on the verge of getting swept. God fucking damn it.

Looks like this could be a short series… God damn it.
The only people who looked like they were actually playing the damn game were Ben Wallace, who played as hard as a human being can, and the fucking rookies.
It’s a bad day when Tyrus Thomas outscores Luol Deng. Not that I don’t worship Thomas’ performance, but he’s coming off the bench. He has less minutes. He’s a rookie! LUOL DENG IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE STAR!
arg.
Ben Gordon was also having a hard time finding his shot. That always means that the rest of the team just won’t find it. Like Heinrich. 0 for 7 I think. Thanks for showing up, buddy.
Unfortunately between recording Grey’s Anatomy, the Office and me being out of the house for league night at Game Empire I will probably miss game 3. This is a bummer, because it may be the only one they win. At least I will catch the Sunday game, because they have to play at least 4 to make it a best of four. It’d be great if they played more, but these Pistons just aren’t the same team I saw them as during the regular season. I definitely thought the Bulls had a chance, but where they showed their youth, vigor, vitality, and energy during the Miami series, this series has had them show more of their youth, inexperience, inconsistency, and energy.
I love watching this team when they are on. They hit those offensive rebounds, steal balls, go for fast breaks off defensive plays, knock down great shots with consistency. They are a very beautiful team when they are on. But when they are off they make me cuss and growl and hate this fucking game.
This is a great example of how this game was going- early in the game Gordon throws up an alley-oop(sp?) to Deng and Deng can’t finish. Later, motherfucking Duhon throws it to Thomas and he makes the highlight reel, nearly smashing his face into the rim in the process. Thomas got so high that he dunked the ball at chest level. If they keep that kid and develop him, he is going to be so fucking awesome in a couple of years. Hopefully those couple of years will prove to be the finalization of Gordon and Deng, cementing them as being more reliable. At that point, old PJ Brown might be out of the picture, but hopefully Ben Wallace will still be on his game.
In conclusion-
negatives: fuck. we are going to lose this series. fuck.
positives: did we really expect to win it all? this series is going to be fantastic experience for these kids and we can only hope they can stretch it out as long as possible. if only to give me something to watch.

Went to the Stagecoach country music festival this weekend. I had a fun ass time. There is no way I would have paid for it, but I liked it.
I need to seriously look into getting some Kris Kristofferson and Nickel Creek albums. They were my favorites.
While I was out the Bulls embarrased themselves in Detroit. 69 points – franchise playoff low. I think God was actively kicking their balls out of the basket. Stupid invisible feet.
worship the devil.
